About

Come refresh and revitalize your spirit - and soul - with friends, family and faith. There are so many good things to enjoy this year, and we're thrilled to share exciting new things with you!

See old pals, make some new - bring your friends and family to enjoy a "weekend in the Son."

Hosted by King of Kings, the WELS Labor Day Retreat 2011 will be at a new, state-of-the-art, gorgeous location in the Berkshire Mountains. Se habla español, e-mail para más información. Here are just a few of the highlights. Check this site often for all of the news and reserve your spot now - don't miss it!

Nestled in the Berkshires just a few miles from the center of the quaint town of Great Barrington, this Retreat will provide food service in the dining hall, no "kitchen patrol" required! Built in the Eastern camp style with a massive stone fireplace, enjoy a piping hot cup of coffee, a casual lunch or a dessert with friends. New buildings are interspersed among the traditional, with a variety of cozy sleeping cabins. Register early for premium accommodations. It’s just across the scenic lake from where so many of the early Retreats took place. And the lower elevation, even in the mountains, means an inviting climate for you to enjoy.

Whether it be a quiet morning on the lake, "Mountain Matins," or a laughing fireside marshmallow roast, the Labor Day Retreat is your chance to get out there and live life free of the daily grind (unless, of course, you've still got that piping hot cup of coffee in your hands).

New events this year include spectacular fireworks on Saturday night, a flashlight hike along the Appalachian Trail, firelight studies and "activities with a twist." And, Koiné will be here! (See the Schedule page for more details.) Bring your friends, there are NEW Group Discounts available!

We're so excited that Koiné will be here!

Common Language. Common People. Extraordinary Message.
That's what Koiné was in the 4th and 5th century, the common language of the people. It's a Greek term, and was the original language the New Testament was written in. Today, Koiné is again a voice for the common people, and again with extraordinary message. Koiné brings a vibrant sound and feel to traditional Lutheran and Christian songs by implementing the common everyday instrumentation of piano, guitar, bass, and drums.
